About us

Our history
Heron City opened its doors in 2001 as part of an international concept that was first established in Spain in the 1990s. And what a sensation it was. Perhaps not so surprising – at the time, we were quite unique, and we still are. Our idea then, as now, is to create multifunctional meeting places where shopping, entertainment, and restaurants come together under one roof.
Better than ever
Since the beginning, we have been a popular destination with top-class cinemas, international restaurants and cafés, as well as an exciting retail offering. The selection available in 2001 reflected the expectations of that time; today, you will find a completely new and modern range. We are part of the growing retail area Kungens Kurva, where we offer experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the area – or even in the city. In autumn 2024, for example, we reopened our renovated food court, enhancing the dining experience with more choices for you and your friends.
Even though we celebrate our 25th anniversary in autumn 2026, the journey has only just begun. Heron City is constantly evolving – more new additions will open soon. We are strengthening our position as a vibrant meeting place for both weekdays and weekends, to meet your expectations and dreams.
In the heart of the district of the future
Kungens Kurva is under development. A new residential project is taking shape. Victoria is a new, fully developed district that will emerge in Kungens Kurva in the coming years. Plans include a total of 3,500 homes, spaces for retail and services, restaurants, cafés, a lush district park, and cozy courtyards. Victoria will consist of approximately 3,500 newly built homes. Exactly what it will look like is not yet finalized, as the area is still under development. The planned start for leasing is in 2030. And the name Victoria, located next to Kungens Kurva, is quite fitting.
Another king is the founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad. A new street connecting the area with Livli and Heron City will be named Ingvar Kamprad’s Avenue, as a tribute to him. It will become a main street featuring pedestrian and bicycle paths as well as tree-lined plantings. Construction began in the summer of 2026 and will be fully completed within two years. You are warmly welcome to move to Victoria in a few years – you will then be close to us at Heron City!
Welcome and experience a vibrant meeting place – for both everyday life and weekends!
Since 2023, Heron City has been owned and managed by Fastighets AB Balder.
